Poetry Corner — Occupied

From time to time, despite my penchant for prose, I’ll take a stab at poetry. (I’ll never call it “good” poetry, mind you, but poetry’s poetry, bad or good. Or hideously awful, even.) In an attempt to mix it up, I’ve added audio as well–Sometimes it’s about the verbal inflections that don’t come from a written page. With that, the first edition of poetry corner: Occupied.

Occupied

Furry friend of mine,

As you lay right there and whine,

Know this, my little friend,

I’m with you ‘til the end,

So please stop whining,

I need to finish this paper.

It’s due tomorrow, and…

No, don’t you understand?

No, I won’t…

Surely you don’t…

Oh, fine. Fetch!
